Trailer was broken into last night.
My PS2 is gone, as is the 35 or so games I had for it.
My G3 Mac is gone.
My 'designated spare' 1ghz P4 is gone.
The duffel bag of leather gear is gone.
Three brand new copies of WinXP Professional, all of them unused, are gone.
The Sony dual deck tape unit is gone.
All of my possessions have been tossed; the trailer is a wreck.
The ribbon around Vicky's urn was ripped off and left lying on the floor.
Apparently they got 'interupted'; Mansion is still here. Most of my DVDs are here. The DVD/VCR deck, receiver, cable box, Sony cd carousel and Onkyo tape deck are still here.

There's no money to replace any of it, and some of the PS2 (and PS1) games aren't even available for purchase any more. I've called the insurance company and filed a claim. Given the age of some of the hardware I won't get much in the way of compensation. I'm gonna go cry now.

I'd just gotten the G3's UI perfect... a victorian-esque steampunk theme that took me two weeks of work to assemble (I'm very NOT artistically inclined, so it took longer).

I've been trying to build a list for a good bit of the day, since the insurance person will need it when they come to look over the trailer. The numbers alone are enough to bring a wave of despair. Some of the things that were taken were... very very personal. I'm alternating between rage and tears and have been all day.

No. Shooting is much too quick. First you bind them, and then you start slowly peeling off their finger nails. When you're done there, move to the toe nails. And then you get mean about things.

It's been a difficult afternoon. It took almost three hours to clean up after the crime lab folks left.

When you're together, give me a ps2 inventory.

I'm working on it. I need to do it for the claims person anyway. I hate insurance claims. I lived in the damned projects for 4.5 years and never lost so much as a penny... 3 months in a place that's actually MINE and I get burgulared. :/

I had 3 new copies... one for my designated spare (stolen as well), one for my Dad's machine and one for my baby sister Tina. Thank God I hadn't picked up their machines yet... they're now safely tucked away at a friends place. Blessedly both have serial key stickers on the cases, but I'm out the $485 I laid out for the legit copies to cover my own behind.

I am so sorry, dear. Same thing happened to me a few months back. They got stuff from my beloved that is irreplaceable. But what is most irreplaceable is one's sense of security. I am suffering from insomnia tonight because I just don't feel safe right now.

I can totally understand it.
