... oh, wow...
Those of you familiar with my financial and medical situation know that filling my prescriptions has been near impossible; I've been running on sample packs for the Lamictal and Abilify for forever. At my current dosage, the Lamictal alone is over $500/month. I've never had the courage to price the Abilify but expect the numbers there would be just as horrific. For over a year I've been told over and over again that I make too much money to qualify for one of the medicare-based prescription plans. Between my income and my age, I was royally screwed.
Yesterday I got a packet in the mail from Cigna. Starting March 1, I have prescription coverage. All of my medications are on the Plan One Formulary. If I'm reading this right (I intend to have Crystal go over it this evening to make sure of that) the Lamictal and Abilify will now cost me $5.60 each. The Amitriptyline will be $2.25. For under $15, I'll have all my meds. I've been alternating between giggling and grateful tears all morning... which made my run to the bank really interesting. I sat in the parking lot for nearly 20 minutes locking things down so I wouldn't be a blubbering idjit in the bank.
