Megan's away and I'm trying to relax. Cope. :p
The second D&D film, Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God, actually manages to redeem the name from the dreckish eye-candy-heavy first film in the chain. There's a plot, there're puzzles, and it's not all goody goody. In fact, as the 'heroes' gathered, I found myself thinking that it stacked up a lot like the tabletop group I play in (when I can get my shite together, that is). There's a snarky, cocky thief (... that's awful. I can't remember the lad's name... and I usually sit by him... finding someone else who's a follower of the Dark Six is rare, after all...), a headstrong berserker barbarian (hi there, Ack. Nice rack. When'd you become a chick?), the cleric who natters on about higher powers and nobody ever really understands 'em (sometimes me, lately my clerics have been totally off the rails daft, though), the 'heroic' leader type (which could also be Ack, but could well be Jon), and the obtuse-but-still-relatively-pure arcanist (hi there, Nette. *smooch*). Nothing ever goes exactly as planned, but everyone tries REALLY hard to make it seem like they 'meant to do that'. :) Anyway, I liked it. Quite nice, and the effects were decent as well.
I also had a chance to finally see the original Godzilla film this morning, and was genuinely surprised at how engrossing it was. Of course, the last five minutes reveals it to be at heart a mid-50's anti-nuclear protest, but it was still a solid movie.
I watched about a third of the Family Guy movie. ... ... Well, I just don't get it, to be honest. I know a lot of my friends are die-hard FG fans, but I'm just... unimpressed. Too many side jokes and distracting cut-scenes; I ended up feeling like I was drunk, stoned, and watching Bakshi's Wizards again. {As a side note... I do not, [repeat][underscore]NOT recommend watching Wizards in an 'altered' state. Some folks won't even notice it, and others will be marked for life by the experience. Just trust me on this one.} I shut it off and moved on. Not my thing.

Nifty little movie and definitely a better example than the first. And some nice little tricks and treats in it to sweeten the deal. Primarily the slight miss on the teleport and what our hero does to rescue the magicienne.
