(no subject)

I'm exhausted and dealing with dizzy spells today, so this will be short.

I've gotten some very irate LJ-related private emails in the last four or five days, from people who are militant supporters and defenders of the federal govenment and President Bush in particular. They've to a one hit the same points... that everything that could be done has been, and that folks are 'blowing things out of proportion'.

I have only one thing to offer in answer, and when you're done watching it, go re-read some of my last links: Aaron Broussard - President, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana.1.

Don't tell me how 'admirable' the reaction has been. You go tell him.

1. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] corona688 for bringing this one to my attention.

I saw him on Meet the Press that morning and I was just floored. Totally floored.

I saw him on CNN... I cried when he was on... I feel for him and everyone else there, and yes, the whole federal govt should be held accountable.

The Fed deserve to burn for this. Preferably leaving the smell of gunpowder behind.

When you thought they couldn't get any lower...

Man. If we had another "9/11" (Fuck! Like that was anything compared to this! What are we going to do now, a global war against all extreme weather?), I doubt we'd be able to do anything. Anything more than one day (even that!) is too much to rush to the scene to help OUR OWN COUNTRYMEN.

Non Sequitor. I'm SO tempted to post this under the "How Our Government Works" sign in the history wing at school.
