Let's rub some more salt in that wound, shall we?

Here's a bit of joy for everyone:
Halliburton gets Katrina contract, hires former FEMA director ... our impartial and fair government at work.

No? That doesn't work for you? How about this:
Landrieu Blasts Bush on Katrina Response ... our fine Fearless Leader faking repairs for political gain.

Ah, well at least we know who is/was responsible:
The buck stops... over there? ... after all, our Fine Fearless Leader wouldn't lie, would he? Oh, wait, he just did that at the levee break, didn't he.

Well, surely groups like the Red Cross can help:
Red Cross is not permitted in New Orleans ... because our Fine Fearless Leader and his dedicated and fair Cabinet only wnat the best for everyone.

... words fail. I... cannot even begin to put into words my feelings on this. Katrina's landfall was a disaster... but the chain of short-sighted and downright malicious failures is nothing short of catastrophic. Politicians pat themselves on the back for being 'humanitarian', while the people that can genuinely help are barred from the site. Excuse me, I need to go be sick.

Hell, if I were in the Shrub's shoes, I'd drop everything and get in there and help where I can, instead of just making the obligatory appearances for "PR" purposes. This just makes me sick.

I wonder just how much of his own precious money he's donating to the relief effort? ok, now I'm going to puke

If I can find it, I'll post a link to a transcript of Tim Russert's interview with the President of Jefferson Parish this morning. It was... eye opening and heartbreaking at the very least as to the efforts the state and local officials and the ruin of those efforts by FEMA.

I cannot reply to this without unleashing a torrent of "f-bombs" and various other inappropriate words.

So, I will just say that this is atypical of what I have come to expect from the Bush administration...

This time their non-action was worse that I could have imagined!

But the "point-the-blame-elsewhere" policy seems to be on par with previous performance.

This was the fourth draft of this post... that's why it reads so crisp and clean. "f-bombs" are far from the worst that I can unleash, and they were -all- present in the first several copies.
