cabbitzilla: (Work To Be Done)

*sigh*

Torn ligament and cartiledge. Dr. Nwaneri's referred me to therapy, three times a week for three week, in hopes of dodging the surgery bullet... but warned me that surgery was a 'strong possibility'. I was just walking down a hallway for frag's sake. :/ I've adjusted the fit on the brace a half dozen times; this variant's a bit more comfortable than the last, but slips out of position faster. I'll try again this evening. Cabbits are NOT supposed to only have one leg.

I'm ... less than pleased. Considerably less than pleased.

In far more trivial news, I finally managed to get my Priestess to level 70 last night, which means I can actually wear the elf ears I shelled out 750,000 zeny for. Intelligence is maxed on her, starting on the major Dexterity pump to try and get my casting times down a bit. My Merchant also got some play last night; I need to level her another half dozen job levels so I can get my Pushcart skill up the last handful of points, and get Vending to something decent. I promised myself I'd get at least two characters to the level 70 point before I started on the 1 remaining Novice I have; my Dancer's closest, but I'm still not happy with myself for changing classes at level 42 instead of pushing to level 50.

For the folks looking for me on AIM or ICQ: I'm having some issues with the Windows 2000 Server install on this machine; it's not liking -any- of the messenger clients anymore. It also won't permit me to install Diablo II, Mission Force: Cyberstorm, and half the time won't even load Solitaire. Given that RO is the reason this machine is down here and that is still working, I'm loathe to reinstall. I'm guessing we'll be doing the people and places shuffle this weekend and get me back to the apartment, which will put me back on the dual machine setup I'm used to. For the moment, E-mail's going to be the best option, and I'll try to check it more regularly.

And that's all for my babbles for the moment. I'm going to eat lunch and bury myself in RO some more

From one 1-legged (though I technically have 3 'cause I've got my good foot, my cam/robo-boot and a crutch) person to another... I feel your pain. ::gentle hugs::

Robo-boot sounds cool as heck, love. *hugs* All I got was this silly velcro and steel brace. Though I imagine it'd double as a nice club. :p

*smooch* Miss you.

LOL Robo-boot is a silly velcro and steel brace. ::sigh:: Steel on the bottom with two bits that go up. Inside is a foam boot. Velcro seals the whole thing. I call it robo-boot because of the black and steel look, and the fact that it's NOISY! ::grin::

Sounds like me clanking around on the crutches. The cats -hate- the noise... but on the plus side I don't have to shoo them away from the door when I'm going outside. :p

I can't do two crutches. . . I fall down. I can use one, though, REALLY well.

I'll leave the carrots a little closer to your doorway *hugs*

[identity profile] elisabeth.livejournal.com 2005-04-08 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Bless you.

*thinks* Do cabbits do alcohol? If so, I'd love so send someone out for some scotch...

[identity profile] m-masque.livejournal.com 2005-04-08 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
That depends.

Can you brew or distill an alcoholic beverage out of carrot juice?

Or, should the question be would you want to?

*hugs*

...

Carrot Cordial

The mind boggles.

*hugs*

Come to think of it, if they can make wine out of peanuts, they probably could come up with a carrot brandy.

What? Wine out of peanuts?

*giggle* I can already hear Rowan cringing all the way from here...

Peanut Noir, but you have to find black peanuts.

And Peanut Grigio.

The French sure spell peanut funny, though...

Gee, thanks. Now I've got a song stuck in my head.

"If you like peanut coladas..."

Try Trillian, www.trillian.cc , its an all-in-one IM client. Easier than installing aim, icq, msn, yahoo, irc client seperately.

[identity profile] elisabeth.livejournal.com 2005-04-08 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
None of the ofur 'real' clients will install. Trillian 2.x and 3.x will install, but crash on launch. Integrity (another multi-client piece) does the same thing as Trillian does. Gabber hangs in startup, forcing me to kill it.

Given the other problems that I'm seeing, it's creeping registry blowout... which will mean reinstalling. But this machine has a very long and painful history of being a right pain in the arse when it comes to an OS install... Win2000S is on it currently because WinXP flat out refused to boot on it after install. Something somewhere in the hardware is dodgy; at a guess it's the antiquated Giga-Byte GA7-IXE or the Athlon Tbird950E that's slotted into it. Considering that the IXE main is the -only- main that'll support the 950, I just have to keep this one going until I've got the parts to upgrade it.

It's a damned shame that my friend Kelly's had no luck making RO run under WINE... this machine'd likely be fine as a linux box. :p

*gentle hugs*

And I hope that you can avoid the surgery, and get back and mobile again quickly!
