Home
We're home. We're alive. We're tired.
And apparently, I'm 'cranky'. *shrugs* I'm me. What the hell is that supposed to mean, anyway? *sigh* Whatever. I'm home, and 'home' smells like mildewed carpet. I'm intending to have us living out of the apartment by the end of this week, and the LAN up and running at the apartment by the end of next week.
Given that I found my crimpers, what I need is a double handful of RJ45 cable ends so that I can re-cut the cables to fit... including running the oh-my-God-this-is-long cable to Megan's room. Connectors, you see, are MUCH cheaper and far less hassle than purchasing a wireless NIC for her Celery 550 and debugging a limited access wireless LAN; I'll go that route when I've got time to tweak it... and a good weekend to drag Kelly up to point out all the little things that I missed, and why it's (in general) not working as desired.
He's the geek that I turn to when I hit the 'ummm.... huh?' wall; the geek's geek, as it were. Besides, I figure he and Crys'll get invited up for pizza and non-twitching movies once we're settled. Provided Megan and I can get out of here without killing each other, that is. Nobody's done anything particularly wrong, we're just -both- on edge... which means there's friction. Given that we both seem to be trying (in varying degrees depending on mood, time of day, position of the moon, and the local tax codes governing walrus hunting) to minimize problems, I'm... cautiously optimistic.
And yes, there's my RO icon again. I suspect I'll upload .gif files for the other characters I play and rotate them through; something to tide me over until I can afford to get a few art commissions from Sue-chan, who's the lovely and adorable artist beyond the icon that's my default piece. In the meantime, I've again got the LAN up and operational; email checking is next on the docket, followed by the simultaneous firing up of my chat client and my RO client.
Tonight, I'm ready. For? Ready to walk the world with the boom. So I hope you can stand the vibration; we're gonna rock the entire nation.... Again, a cybercuddle for the person who can nail that artist and song... and no fair Googling for it, either. :)
All systems gone. Prepare for downcount.... (no, no awards for that one. sorry. :p )

How long is that cable and where will it be running. Along a ceiling or floor or....?
And lastly, what does "RO" stand for (as in "icon" and "client")?
Inquiring geeks want to know...

Cable'll be 25' or less, run around the baseboards to wherever Megan puts her desk.
RO = Ragnarok Online. The icon that goes with this post is of the 2-2 Dancer job. Official game information can be found at Gravity's Official RO Website.

"The Outhere Brothers" are not often quoted ^giggles^, of course, I don't know to many people that would quote them.
As odd as that may be, my playlist jumped from "Synaesthetic" (Blue Man Group) to "Boom Boom Boom" (The Outhere Brothers), and then straight into "Frankenstein" (Edgar Winter Group)... which seriously bent my brain. But iTunes was -not- done with me; from there it leaped full tilt into "Angel City" (Motorhead), "A Pirate Looks At Forty" (Jimmy Buffett), "Human Beat Box" (Fat Boys), "Wrath of the Ripper" (Grim Reaper), and then dumped me into "Closer To Fine" (Indigo Girls).
At that point I shut it down, before my head exploded rather messily.
*cuddles the cutiepuppy a bit more*
Congrats!
