Bleah. New patch went on today. Pain levels are... considerably above my 'functional' line, even the one of the recent year. Too glazed to even play D2... mostly staring at random walls and trying not to cry. Typing one handed.... pain bursts in the left shoulder have left that arm completely unusable for the moment. I'm hoping that a fresh patch will knock things back down to reasonable... praying, really. I'm useless like this... between the pain and the mental fog, my thoughts are so slow that even slackwits are dancing circles around me. Gotta figure out something for food. Need to eat. Must be something.

There're more than a few things on my mind. We'll start with a couple of news articles that were brought to my attention by one of my benefactors:

The DES Legacy
Both of them are courtesy of the Washington Post, and are now a fairly major worry that my intersexed nature has deeper roots than simple genetic fluke. My errand out this evening was to sit down with my full sister and lay it out for -her-, to try and get some insight into how to present it to my Mother. The timing couldn't be worse... Mom was nearly hospitalized earlier this week when a routine physician's visit disclosed 'lethally high blood pressure'. And here I am with a news bite that's going to stoke that fire even higher, no matter how I present it. But Leah agreed that it was -not- something I should wait on... particularly since she's now got two kids of her own and really needs to know herself if she's up against this. I've been sitting on the info since Saturday... and it's certainly not done nice things for -my- blood pressure. Someone pray for Mom and I both... because I'm 80% certain I'm going to get an affirmative to my question about DES. And the result isn't going to be pretty; she is already quite certain that I blame her for what I am... I wish I could deny it. Up until recently, it's been true. :( This news.... if she -was- a DES victim... it absolves her of a lot of the mayhem that resulted. Granted, she could have handled it WAAAAAY better in the beginning, bu so probably could I. And in the end, blame only muddies the waters...

The other point of disruption in my live continues to be the linux box parked beside my desk. Crys? Nudge Kelly, would you? The damnfool critter is -convinced- that my DSL modem doesn't exist... and I've not a clue how to make it function. *sigh* Maybe I'll try reinstalling it (on a different drive, so I've got these as backup) with the silly thing hooked in. Maybe it'll find it during the port probes. But I doubt it, somehow. *sigh*

I'm gonna go kill things. Lots and lots of things. And maybe it'll help me feel better... but somehow I doubt that too.
