Calling in Dead
I begged off the con today; I dropped Taryn off around 11, and came back home. There was simply no way I could get laced into the corset with my back spasming the way it was - just driving Rynnie up to the con proved to be almost more than I could manage. So I'm sitting here with BioFreeze smeared across my back and generally being unhappy about missing the last day of Otakon.
What makes it near unbearable is that it could have been prevented; if I'd been less careless -yesterday-, and not walked off without my money, I would've been able to keep food-like substances in my body. Instead, I went nearly 10 hours on water and a third of a pretzel, and was near incoherence by the time I got us both home last night. When Megan unlaced the corset (moving slowly... decompression isn't pretty and she understands about corsets), I -still- ended up taking the long spin down to the floor. Megan took one look at my face and started shoveling pizza and Sprite at me (Sprite for immediate sugar hit, heavy carbs for an intermediate hit, and triple peperoni for that long lasting protein power... go pizza!). And today I get the run down, burned out fallout of abusing what's left of my health like that.
*sigh*
You'd think I'd -know- this by now. I -did- do better this time than I did at AnthrCon... at least I know how to fix this -today-, and not have it linger for several more days. But I really do need to stop doing this. 'm sorry, Mistress, I know I screwed the pooch with this one, but I /will/ fix it. *hugs*
I need to make a run to retrieve food, and then I'm back. Ryn'll call eventually; I'm -REALLY- hoping she can get to Piro today...
