Embedding images from Geocities doesn't work. :o)

They check the referer headers, and if they don't match Geocities, they don't display the image.

(It displays fine if you copy/paste the URL (http://www.geocities.com/fatherfritz/no-sco-3.png) into a new browser window, since that way there's no referer header... if you do that, look at it, then try and embed it in a LJ post, it might /look/ like it's worked, since it's in your cache, but no one else can see it...)

Wow. It won't let me respond from the email as usual. Odd.
Anyway, yah, I've gathered the linking thing. Pity, really. Ah well.

*hugs*

Reply from the email only really works from webmail clients (a la HotMail), Microsoft's bloated Windows mail clients, which include a full web Active-X, Javascript and Java-enabled web browser (and all the security holes that implies), and thingsl ike Netscape/Mozilla mail, which just use the HTML rendering engine that you've already got running as a part of the browser.

Most clients will render HTML, but they don't have the capability to open the connection for posting a form. This is a good thing, IMO, since I want my email client to do email, not display web pages. :o)
