*whimper*
Sorry... 's a pain day, even with the patch. No wonder the bouts with nausea were so intense yesterday; as the patch's effectiveness tapers off, I'm discovering how badly I hurt. *exhale* Nothing to be done for it, though... I will -NOT- sacrifice my social day, and there's cleaning to be done. It's looming in my mind, and is going to nag at me until I've got it nailed down.
You see, where there only existed a rough plan before, there is now a lot more detail... and confirming measurements. For those that understand the layout of my home, this will make sense; for the rest of you, just ride it out... as soon as I get one of my 'home architect' programs running there'll be a plot of the house available.
The 'dining nook' is the current target. Currently, it's the home of my naugahyde recliner (buried in random debris), my overstuffed chair and automan (buried in laundry), and the glider rocker & footstool that are (because of weight limitations and the width of my derierre) Megan's. It also houses the glass topped coffee table we got from Cindi two years ago, a pile of empty boxes that I can't yet reach that need to be thrown out (don't ask me how they got there... but they're pissing me off), and yet more 'random' detritus. All of that is going to change.
The laundry is now -all- sorted into piles: 1) Just mine, 2) Just Megan's, 3) Mixed sweats, 4) Mixed tshirts, 5) Mixed panties/bras/socks, and 6) sheets. (In addition to the sorting, I also got all the blasted towels folded and put away). So the first target is the bedroom closet, and a purging of all the ugly and blocky boi stuff that not only will never fit me again, but I'll never wear again. That'll make room in the closet for the #1 and #2 piles.
The goal is to get all of the 'stuff' out of the Dining Nook... I have other more important stuff to put in it.
From there, the sheets get folded and put away in the hall closet; mostly a no brainer, I need Megan's assistance for the old waterbet sheets we're not using anymore. The sweats will get a dresser drawer all to themselves; mostly it's Megan that wears them, but sometimes I do as well. In the now open space, piles #4 and #5 come into play. Tshirts will get sorted into Large, X-Large, and XX-Large, and put away in consecutive drawers. If I want something so tight my nipples are poking through the fabric, I have... well, other stuff for that. The bras/panties/socks pile gets sorted into hers and mine, and go into separate drawers. I'm tired of discovering that I'm trying to put on one of her thongs.
Probably TMI, there. Oh well. *snerk* Sorry. That gets the laundry out of my way. It totally empties the overstuffed chair and automan, and clears the top layer off the recliner. Costuming tote gets put in the back bedroom, and that pulls another layer. Leaves me (that I know of) two boxes and a jumbo laundry basket full of random 'stuff' that needs to get sorted out. I know there's a bunch of my paperbacks in that mess... I've an empty shelf in one of the 'cases that'll make them an easy target. That'll empty the recliner as well... it'll get pushed all the way to the left to get it as 'out of the way' as I can manage, and grant access to the pile of empty boxes. Trash, baby, and gone and out of my hair. And that gets the deep part of the corner cleaned out.
You see, Megan's desk & computer are going into that corner. The old wooden dresser that's occupying space in the closet of the second bedroom will go beside it; it's going to become 'hardware central' and allow me to gather up all the computer bits that're strewn wildly throughout this house. Ultimately, that will help tremendously in the battle against the clutter. The now-cleared chairs will get pushed into the center of the living room to get them out of the way... temporarily trashing the living room, but making space for the what I've lovingly nicknamed Big Bruiser; my desk. It's an old military surplus desk, wood top and steel frame. And two of the current slashes on my legs are from it. :p With all the hardware bits going into the dresser, I'll be able to redo the drawers on the left as CD storage. Finally.
With the desks out of the second bedroom, it gets a banzai clean... it's going to become home to the big sectional sofa. That'll make room in the living room for the recently unearthed overstuffed and recliner. And finally the house will be beginning to sort out, with living room, computer area, and second bedroom cleaned and right.
I get tired thinking of it, but it -will- get done.
