Well. It's definitely been a bumpy few days. Hopefully things will continue this little upturn and not dump me headlong into the commode again. :p But first up.... some quizzes, tucked neatly behind a cut tag for the quiz-unfriendly.
Quizzie Amusements )

*exhales* Yes, it's been a bumpy night. The whole spider thing was REALLY creeping me out. As amusing as Eight Legged Freaks was, I don't think I'll be rewatching it any time soon. Somewhere I have a very worn copy of Chopping Mall, though... and it may get queued up here in a short.

Which reminds me... everyone wave hi to [livejournal.com profile] mortorio, who I discovered whilst randomly surfing journals. He does nifty reviews of some of the more esoteric horror and slasher films out there; I've seen about half of what he's reviewed, and haven't disagreed with him yet. And there are a couple on that list that have gone on my 'find and watch' list. :) The film that's currently at the top of my must see list is Neco z Alenky, though. also known simply as 'Alice'... a piece done by director Jan Svankmajer. Anyone local to me have it? :) It looks suitably creepy.

At any rate, I've certainly rambled on here enough. While sleep is going to be a ways off yet, I -am- in better shape now; not totally together, but getting there. Or as close as it gets anymore.

*hugs*

Hrm. Annoying.

What looked to be a relatively clean install of Windows XP Professional on the Athlon XP 2000+ has turned out to be anything but. However, it works well enough to dump my mp3's and avi's (live action Sailor Moon! Squee!) over to the secondary drive. I'm going to lose my saved games and such for a bunch of the little games, but I consider that fairly trivial.

Why'm I going to lose them? Because I'm going to blow this sickly install to bits and do it clean. And to the four friends who INSISTED that the 'upgrade' option was as good as the advanced clean install, I wave my vaguely phosphorescent hindparts at thee.

Harrumph.

Yes, I'm being peevish. I'd also like to note publicly that the Hercules Game Theater XP is a /marvelous/ sound setup...IF you can get the motherflamin drivers to install properly. Lots of luck on that one, because you're going to need it. Of course, if you're like me and prefer Athlon based machines on VIA chipsets, you almost -have- to use something other than Creative Labs hardware; they also suffer from the dread disease can't-write-a-clean-freakin-driver-to-save-mummy's-life.

*snerk*

Oh well. Well, I seem to have stuffed everything I can onto the secondary, so now it's time to... *grins* Oh, what the hell...

Cry HAVOC! And let slip the wild cabbits of hardware...

Yes, I'm a little wocked on my meds. But it's entertaining. :)
