The last few days have been bumpy... and it's kept me away from my journal. I've managed to keep up with a couple of my friends, but overall things have been too crazy to do much. And with luck, the worst of it is behind me now.

Hmm. Not a very good teacher if I can't keep at least some control over my own mind. Maybe someday.

Spent the last of my cash reserve today, picking up a birthday present for my niece, Lauren. She's a good kid, really, and the only other anime fan amongst my blood relatives. Her party is Saturday afternoon; hopefully it'll just be immediate family, and not the whole pile.

And at the moment, I'm so tired that this has sat here for almost two hours as I tried to finish this sentence.

Barely conscious, and about to take a nap. This morning featured a publicly visible fall; moving across the path to the driveway, my left knee decided to visit the west coast... pitching me head first into the left rear door of the Mercury in the driveway.

To totally mangle Jimmy Buffett: My head hurts, my knees ache, and I don't love Mercurys.

This was cute, though, and I wanted to post it before I drifted back to the bliss of being insensate:

As I've commented to some of the folks closest to me...
I expected more from Dracula 2000. It's not a bad flick, and certainly the twist to the vampiric legend is a fascinating one... but I really figured a Wes Craven film would have more ooomph.

It was commented that Wes Craven has fallen the way of John Carpenter... a thought I agreed with: I've a definite fond spot for Carpenter, but... The story line they used in D2000 was fascinating, and it had a tremendous amount of potential, but the execution/presentation of it was not up to the same standard.

Pity, really. I was hoping for a really grooving vampire flick. What I got was a story with vast amounts of potential that went for cheap oneliners and blatant cleavage. Had it been an anime, it could've been called FanService 2000 instead. :p It could've used more butt shots of Gerard Butler, but we can't always get what we want, eh? :p And he's got that same curly mop of hair that makes R so cute, too...

Okay. Now then. Well, it seems I'm going to be watching the borrowed copy of Fight Club now. Megan wants D200 back... apparently she's lusting after Mister Butler as well. Heh. If I had a working vibe, I'd lend it to her. :p

Anyway, I'm going to ramble on, now. The headache from falling earlier is almost gone, now. Another round of naprosyn should beat it back completely.

Ta.
