Some of the folks who read here are aware of the... issues that Megan and I have over money and the use thereof.
The most recent 'incident' left me with a decidedly sour taste in my mouth, and considerably less trust in her bill-paying dutifulness: she 'found' money to enroll in a college course, pay for it, pay for the $48 text... and the cried broke when my primary pain prescription had to be filled 2 days later. It gets filled every 15 days, like clockwork. She knew it was coming. But we were broke. Subsequent digging into her financial records showed she'd been stashing aside money for a couple months, all the while screaming 'we don't have enough'...
Since, I've been monitoring the numbers, working with the files on her machine while she's asleep or at work or otherwise away. The concerns in my mind are not easily laid to rest; I'm hoping this is an aberration rather than a pattern, but I'm watching. Tonight, my Mistress popped $100 into my PayPal account (the button for it's buried somewhere in my GeoCities website), as perk money for me. The 'do something nice for yourself' kind of thing. The problem that presented is that the only way I had to redeem that money was to dump it through the checking account... and Megan would spot it and start screaming she needed it for the bills. Given the likelihood that she was telling the truth, I'd feel honor bound to surrender it. But I have my doubts. So I'm going to hedge a bit; PayPal offers a MasterCard debit card for free... I've plugged in my info and will have it in 4-6 weeks. It'll only be good for whatever's in the PayPal coffers... and if Megan -does- come up short on the bills, I can still transfer it into the checking account.
And tonight was the kickoff scenario for the online 7th Sea campaign I was invited to play in. In spite of my sour mood (long story that's been told here over and over and over again), I had a blast. It's a fun game environment, and a nifty little setting that's been laid out for us. Lots of fun was had. (YES, you did WONDERFUL!)
And now, I'm going to go continue slaughtering cities in Civ 3. I feel the need to kill things. With Tanks.
